Woman stabbed to death in Weekend of violence


A weekend marred by violence culminated in the tragic death of a woman who was stabbed to death this morning.


The most recent incident unfolded early Monday morning when authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive woman near Palm Breeze Drive and Carmichael Road.


Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a woman believed to be in her late thirties, with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.


She was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, details surrounding the motive and perpetrator are unknown.


In an unrelated event, police arrested a 42-year-old man following a stabbing incident that claimed the life of a 26-year-old man.


The altercation, which reportedly occurred on Thursday at a basketball court on Moonshine Drive, Sunset Park, escalated into violence resulting in fatal injuries to the younger man.


Despite efforts to save his life, the victim succumbed to his wounds on Sunday evening while hospitalized.


The suspect voluntarily surrendered to authorities and remains in custody pending further investigation.


In a separate incident on Grand Bahamas, gunfire erupted on Yellow Jasmine Close off Pioneers Way West, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old man.


Responding to reports of gunshots late Sunday night, police discovered the victim lying unresponsive in a driveway with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and lower extremities.


Despite medical attention, the man could not be revived.
