Two killed in plane ditching near New Providence


Tragedy struck today when a Piper Aztec aircraft, registered in the United States, was forced to ditch in waters approximately eight miles west of New Providence.


The aircraft, en route to Lynden Pindling International Airport, was carrying six individuals when the pilot encountered severe difficulties.


Emergency response teams from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, and the United States Coast Guard swiftly mobilized to the scene.


Response teams were able to retrieve all six occupants of the plane. Tragically, two of the individuals sustained fatal injuries.


The incident is under investigation.
