Employees of The Ministry of Public Service were abruptly told to pack up their belongings and go home Friday morning due to Covid-19 exposure in the office.
Staff members were not advised which area the infected employee works in, when that person tested positive for the coronavirus and their last time in the office - crucial details that would help them determine their level of exposure to the positive case and whether they too should be tested.
“No explanation or instructions were given, which left staff baffled and afraid,” said one worker.
All they were told is to vacate the premises immediately in order for the building to be sanitized and deep cleaned.
The Public Treasury Department and the Public Hospitals Authority’s Supplies Management Agency on Shirley Street were also shut down this week for sanitization and deep cleaning due to covid exposure.
