Two police officers are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after a traffic accident that occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the South Street area.
The officers, traveling in a marked Nissan Frontier, were heading south on Augusta Street when they collided with a gray Honda Fit, which was proceeding east on South Street. The impact caused the police vehicle to overturn.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly transported the injured officers to hospital, where they received treatment and have since been discharged.
Authorities have not released further details about the driver of the Honda Fit.
