PM travels to the US for Medical Treatment

Prime Minister Philip Davis is heading to the United States for medical treatment to address a condition affecting his sciatic nerve.

The announcement was made as he departed London, where he had been engaged in a series of official meetings, including discussions with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Sciatica, the condition Davis is facing, is characterized by pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, typically from the lower back down through the hips and buttocks and extending into each leg.

This discomfort is often caused by compression of the nerve roots due to factors such as herniated discs or bone overgrowth in the spine.

During Davis's absence, Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.

This is not the first instance where Davis has sought medical care in the United States. Previously, he was airlifted to a US hospital after contracting Covid-19 while serving as the opposition leader.

The Prime Minister's office has not disclosed specific details regarding the duration of his treatment or where exactly in the United States he will be receiving medical care.
