Police have charged a 21-year-old man with the murder of Leon Griffin, the businessman husband of former Cabinet Minister Melanie Griffin.
Demargio Lockhart, 21, whose street name is Toons, is accused of fatally shooting Griffin in an ambush outside his home in Winton Meadows on December 23, 2021.
What’s more, police investigators have accused Lockhart of three other murders.
They say Lockhart and Hartman Rolle gunned down Pablo Moss and Melvin Johnson through Quakoo Street on November 23, 2021.
The men are also charged with the attempted murder of Dion Bethel who was shot in the same incident.
Lockhart is the second suspect in the August 14, 2021 murder of trainee immigration officer Lanisha Armbrister and the attempted murder of Drazen Dean.
They were shot by the occupants of a grey SUV while in Victoria Gardens.
Lockhart did not have to enter pleas to the matters when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt today.
He was denied bail and returns to court on May 9.
