UPDATE: Jamaican inmate escapes from Fox Hill prison

UPDATE:

A 30-year-old Jamaican national on remand at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services has escaped from the Fox Hill facility.

Winston Walker, a resident of Rupert Dean Lane, broke out of the Remand Center today.

He was taken into custody on armed robbery and attempted armed robbery charges.

Walker was last seen wearing a long sleeve red shirt and gray pants. He has a slim build, stands five feet, five inches tall and has black hair and dark brown eyes.

Police and prison officers scoured Eastern New Providence communities in search of the prisoner and were overheard asking residents in nearby neighborhoods if they had seen anyone fitting the man’s description.

It is unclear how Walker escaped but authorities say they won’t stop searching until he is back behind bars.
