An ex-con is back in prison after he allegedly attacked a woman and threatened to kill her during a burglary.
The woman fought off the intruder during the incident, resulting in him fleeing the scene and mistakenly leaving his cellphone behind.
Police charged Thorne Anthony Cooper, 26, with burglary, threats of death and assault in connection with the incident.
He didn’t have to plead to the charges when he appeared before the chief magistrate.
Cooper was denied bail and returns to court on December 8.
In 2015, he was convicted of assault with intent to rape and armed robbery. At the time, Justice Ian Winder sentenced him to 10 years in prison with a reduction of the two years that he had spent on remand.
He didn’t serve the full 10 years with time off for good behavior.
