Atlantis has delayed its reopening, which was scheduled for July 7, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision stems from a surge in new coronavirus cases in the United States, which represents 80 percent of The Bahamas’ tourist market.
The resort on Paradise Island is now expected to reopen in a month.
Atlantis was one of the few major resorts expected to reopen in July when the country reopens to tourists. It had planned a phased reopening starting with one of its towers.
Baha Mar postponed it’s opening date to October and Sandals Royal Bahamian will remain closed until November.
