Convicted drug kingpin Samuel “Ninety” Knowles has been rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, according to well-placed sources.
Knowles is currently serving a prison sentence in McRae, Georgia. His ailment and his condition are unknown.
After spending six years behind bars at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services, Knowles was extradited to the United States on August 28, 2006.
In 2008, Knowles was sentenced to 35 years in prison by a U.S. federal court judge.
Knowles was convicted of drug smuggling and ordered to forfeit nearly $14 million in illegal proceeds for smuggling thousands of kilos of cocaine to the United States in 1995 and 1996.
In 2010, the US Appeals Court upheld his conviction and sentence.
