Anthony Rolle will officially be sworn in as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police on Saturday during a brief but significant ceremony at Government House.
He will be sworn in along with Senior Assistant Commissioner Kirkwood Andrews, who will share the role.
The event, to be held at noon, marks a major milestone in Rolle’s distinguished career with the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
Rolle’s promotion follows the retirement of Deputy Commissioner Leamond Deleveaux.
After being appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police just one year ago, Rolle’s new role as Deputy Commissioner highlights his steady rise through the ranks of the force over the past few decades.
Rolle has overseen the Urban Renewal Division, which is dedicated to uplifting and supporting communities across the Bahamas.
The division's mission includes enhancing public safety, promoting community engagement, and fostering partnerships aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in various neighborhoods.
Andrews has also progressed through the ranks, becoming a Corporal in July 1998, a Sergeant in July 2001, an Inspector in July 2005, an Assistant Superintendent of Police in January 2010, a Superintendent of Police in October 2014, a Chief Superintendent of Police in January 2017, an Assistant Commissioner of Police in March 2020, and a Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police in December 2023.
In addition to his promotions, Andrews was awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service in 2001, the Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct in 2009, and was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Merit by the Commonwealth of The Bahamas National Honours Act in 2023.
Rolle and Andrews’ ascension to Deputy Commissioner of Police is a significant step in their careers and represents a new chapter for the Royal Bahamas Police Force, which now has its first female Commissioner Shanta Knowles who was sworn in on Friday afternoon.
