Andrew McKinney sworn in as newest Justice of the Supreme Court


Noted attorney Andrew McKinney was sworn in today as the latest justice of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished legal career.


He was sworn in by Governor General Dame Cynthia Pratt in a brief ceremony attended by prominent figures in the legal community.


McKinney, a respected attorney with extensive experience, was called to The Bahamas Bar in November 1991. He completed his legal education with a degree from the University of the West Indies in 1989, followed by his graduation from Norman Manley Law School in 1991.


Since his call to the bar, McKinney has been a key member of the prestigious chambers of McKinney, Turner and Co., where he advanced to the status of partner and has represented many prominent clients.


Throughout his career, McKinney has earned a reputation for his deep knowledge of Bahamian law and expertise in the legal field.


He is married to Valderine McKinney, and together they have one son, Christopher McKinney. His family was present at the swearing-in ceremony, sharing in this momentous occasion.
