An American man will be charged today with vehicular manslaughter following a tragic traffic accident that claimed the life of a fellow American visitor on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Arawak Cay Drive, near the Nassau Container Port.
According to police reports, the 21-year-old victim was ejected from a Polaris utility task vehicle (UTV) when it tilted during a maneuver executed by the driver.
Despite immediate medical attention, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, the driver will also be charged with possession of dangerous drugs by Drug Enforcement Unit personnel.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court later today.
