A 47-year-old Abaco man with a mental disorder attempted to end his life by drowning.
However, the crew of a ferry intervened after spotting the man in the water between Marsh Harbour and Guana Cay.
The ferry crew successfully retrieved the man from the water and he was transported to the Marsh Harbour Community Clinic.
Medical evaluations confirmed that the individual was experiencing a mental health crisis and had attempted to take his own life.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
